Build

Front Display

The Lumia 630 is solidly built. You have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the 4.5-inch display in the front, plus the sides of the front-panel surrounding the display are raised to protect it from scratches. At the top of the display you have the main earpiece and at the bottom the primary microphone.

Right Side Buttons

The volume rocker and power key can be found on the right. They are both sturdy and offer a different texture than the matte backcover making then easier to feel with your fingers. They also have good travel and are not noisy.

Top Side

At the top you have the 3.5 mm audio jack while the micro-USB data-syncing/charging port can be found at the bottom. There is no secondary noise cancellation microphone.

Back Cover

Moving to the back you have a 5 MP AF camera without any bump but it does have a plastic rim surrounding it which protects the lens from scratches. At the bottom you have the speakerphone and Nokia branding in the middle. On opening the back-cover you are greeted to the micro-SIM card slots on the left and just above them the microSD card slot.

Back Cover Open

The battery compartment is to the right of the SIM card slots. The back-cover has a matte finish and rounded corners which make the phone easier to hold. The sides are a bit angular and the back is convex which makes the phone feel good to hold.

First Impressions

This is one of the first Windows Phone 8.1 devices, which is truly the highlight of the Lumia 630 and the second is that it comes with dual-SIM support. The display looks great, it has wide viewing angles and good color reproduction. The touch-response is also good. Windows Phone 8.1 runs fluidly on the Lumia 630, there is no lag in the interface. The new transition animations also make using the phone faster. With 512 MB RAM, the Lumia 630 runs everything like a breeze.

With solid build quality, a fast processor, Dual-SIM support and the latest Windows Phone 8.1, the Lumia 630 might upstage the Lumia 525 which is currently one of the most popular Windows Phones in India.
